GOOD FOOD FESTIVAL FILM SERIES: CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF THE SANTA MONICA FARMERS MARKET
Presented by Slow Food Los Angeles, FamilyFarmed.org and the Santa Monica Farmers Market

Monthly at the Aero Theatre

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Santa Monica Farmers Market, Slow Food Los Angeles and SMFM will present one screening monthly from June to September at the Aero Theatre. The selected featured documentaries excellently and engrossingly address topical issues in our country’s food system. Everything from the farm-to-table movement to the daily challenges faced by our country’s next generation of farmers will be covered, with enlightening round-table panel discussions following the screenings.

If local food is an important part of your life, or if you simply want to learn more about the local food movement, be sure not to miss any of these exciting screenings! The series kicks off in June with short-subject documentary “Big River” and documentary THE GREENHORNS, both looking at pertinent issues faced by today’s young farmers.

Series compiled by the Good Food Festival Film Committee (Lisa Lucas Talbot, Laura Avery, Marguerite Kenner, Susan Haymer and Corinne Bordeau). Program notes by Beth Hanna.
