Hank Palmer (Robert Downey Jr.) left Carlinville, Indiana behind years ago for a career as a lawyer; returning to his hometown for his mother’s funeral, he’ll need all the legal expertise he has to help his estranged father (Robert Duvall), a local judge accused of murder.
